Unity3D Visual Effects / Environment Artist
As our Unity3D Visual Effects/Environment Artist, you will play a pivotal role in creating immersive and visually stunning experiences for our games. Collaborate with the art team to create exciting visual effects and environments within Unity 3D, while overseeing the quality of such assets across the project. The work will involve working with the creative leadership to design and create beautiful 3D environments in engine, with the assistance of a skilled 3D art team. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring visual effects are optimised and run across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency in the overall visual style of the game. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop and refine tools for the art production process, assist in project scope for timely milestone deliveries, and actively collaborate with other artists and designers.
Your creativity will shine through the dynamic VFX animations and immersive environment designs that you create, consistent with the overall visual style of the game. You’ll also support the Creative Director in shaping the overall artistic vision of the game, taking ownership of VFX elements and environments which are deeply linked with the gameplay in our titles.
- Create high-quality, optimized visual effects using Unity 3D, including particle systems, shaders, textures, lighting, and post-processing effects.
- Utilize your artistic skills to design and animate various visual effects, such as explosions, fire, water, magic spells, and environmental effects.
Proficiency in industry-standard software: Unity3D (required), Photoshop, Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or Houdini is a crucial, as is a solid understanding of traditional art and animation principles, 3D modelling, and particle systems.
Additional nice-to-have competencies include familiarity with node-based material and shader workflows, excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong asset management, a passion for video games, a deep understanding of the gaming industry, and strong problem-solving skills to tackle tight deadlines.
